How to read this comparison
Each platform is rated on five dimensions: sign-up/KYC friction, fees (deposit + withdrawal + GST), payout speed (UPI range across 4 payouts), eligibility coverage (state exclusions), and editorial treatment (how the platform handles complaints and bonus terms). The ratings are not aggregated into a single "best app" score — they are reported side-by-side, because the trade-off between, say, faster payout and lower contest rake is the kind of decision the reader should make for themselves.
The five dimensions, defined
Sign-up and KYC friction measures the time and number of steps between downloading the app and being able to enter a paid contest. Some platforms let you in within ten minutes; others gate the first withdrawal behind an Aadhaar e-sign that takes 24–48 hours to confirm. The friction is named, not glossed over.
Fees covers three separate cost lines that most marketing pages merge into "no hidden charges". Deposit fees are what the platform charges on top of your UPI or card load. Withdrawal fees are what they deduct when you cash out. GST treatment matters because contest entry fees are subject to 28% GST on the full entry fee, not the prize pool — a fee structure that platforms have to disclose clearly. Contest rake is the platform's cut on each contest, typically 5–15% depending on format.
Payout speed is measured across four separate withdrawals spaced over a quarter, not just the fastest. UPI withdrawals on Indian platforms range from minutes to 48 hours; the median across our four tests is what we publish. The fastest single payout is a marketing line.
Eligibility coverage is the list of Indian states where the platform restricts paid contest entry. Fantasy cricket is restricted in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh (partially), Assam, Odisha, Sikkim, Nagaland, and a few union territories. The comparison names the exclusions and how each platform enforces them.
Editorial treatment covers complaint response time, bonus-term clarity, and whether the platform publishes its terms in plain language. We test this by raising a complaint through the in-app channel and measuring response time.
Limitations of this comparison
Three platforms is not a leaderboard. We deliberately publish a small comparison, not a rotating top-10 — and we re-test each platform quarterly. A platform that scores well today may score worse after a fee change or a customer-service shift. Check the latest review date at the top of each platform's entry on the apps page.
The comparison does not include the platforms we have not personally tested. There are more than a dozen fantasy-cricket apps operating in India; we have not reviewed the majority of them, and we say so explicitly rather than ranking apps we have not audited. Where a platform requests inclusion in the comparison desk, the request goes through the same sign-up, deposit, contest-entry, and withdrawal test as any other — no fast track.
